By choosing Habitus as the title of my production, I wanted to bring to the forefront the identity that this word evokes.
The clothes that I use in my creations are a weight that I am ridding myself of, a burden that I am recycling. I observe the clothes, and then select the pieces on which I will intervene using pigment. My work is best shown on a surface: either a floor or hanging from the ceiling. I’m interested in the language that is created by the traces formed by the stitching in the clothes. In this way, I question the appearance, the structure and the form that this reality takes. Everything is transformed. Nothing is fixed or closed to a new way of addressing the world.
